Pricing & Quotes

Submit our online form on the Free Consultation page or email admin@blackmahoganycivils.co.za. We respond within one working day.

Yes. Initial consultations and indicative quotes are always free. Detailed estimates that require site visits or design work are quoted as scoping engagements.

For straightforward briefs, 2–5 working days. For complex capital projects requiring site assessment, 7–14 working days.

Project location, scope, available drawings or specifications, target start date, and any constraints (budget envelope, programme deadlines, parastatal requirements).

Yes for well-scoped works. For projects with unknowns we offer remeasureable rates with capped totals or cost-plus arrangements as appropriate.

Standard terms are progress payments tied to JBCC or NEC milestone certificates. We accept EFT and bank transfers.

Project-dependent. Mobilisation deposits are standard for civils and capital works to cover plant, materials and crew commitments.

For sites within our home regions (Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban) — typically yes. For remote sites, mobilisation is itemised separately.

No. Our quotations itemise materials, labour, plant, transport, supervision and contingencies. Variations are agreed in writing before work proceeds.

Through a formal variation order — priced, signed and dated before any change is implemented on site.

Project Process

Brief intake → site assessment → quotation → contract → mobilisation → execution → progress reporting → handover with as-built documentation.

Typical mobilisation is 2–4 weeks after contract signing, depending on plant availability and scope size.

Yes. Every project is assigned a dedicated project manager who coordinates communication, reporting and decisions throughout delivery.

Weekly written progress reports plus bi-weekly site meetings. Drone-based progress imagery is available on capital projects.

Yes — coordinated through your project manager and subject to site induction and PPE.

Joint inspection, snag list resolution, full as-built documentation pack (drawings, volume calcs, test results, certificates), and a defects-liability period commences.

Yes — we contract under JBCC, NEC3/NEC4, GCC and FIDIC frameworks. We also accept private bespoke contracts.

Yes. We integrate with appointed consultants and follow their drawings and specifications.

Front-loaded planning, Monte Carlo schedule analysis on critical-path activities, weekly look-ahead reviews and pre-agreed acceleration measures.

Highly project-dependent. A residential high-rise like Makoti Flats took ~14 months. A road rehabilitation package can be 6–12 weeks. We commit to written milestones.

Construction & Site

Yes — including excavators, rollers, asphalt milling machines and concrete pumps. Specialist plant is hired in for short campaigns.
